Formatting Date Field

In my forms I can only get the date field to display in the current format Day of week, Month DD YYYY (e.g. Friday, February 16, 2018), unfortunately there is not enough screen real estate to accommodate a string this long on most smartphones. is it possible to have a date in a short format (mm/dd/yyyy) such as in a date/time question?

Ismael Chivite's  blog https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2016/04/17/dates-and-time-in-survey123-for-arcgis shows a date displayed as Month DD, YYYY.

How would one get this date format?

How the date is displayed/formatted in a date question depends on the local settings of the device, you can't control it in the survey. This also varies from device to device - Ismael is showing an IPhone in his image.

Thanks John, Not the answer I was hoping for.  I'll submit and "Idea" to enhance date formatting.
