Creating a unique 'permit number' that adds 1 to itself every new survey?

Hi All,

I was curious if in S123 or S123-Connect there was a way to generate/calculate a permit number that shows in a field or a note on the survey form rather than just the meta data as in survey123 connect? I know I can do this with time functions in connect but just need an equivalent to a written permit number and have yet to succeed in doing this. I cannot find any other posts or google search articles that answer my question and wanted to pose it to the experts.

Many thanks,

This post is the base to a lot of talk on the subject.

There was a post on using a lookup to a feature service but I can't find it.  Assumes always being online of course.

Hope that helps

Hi @DougBrowning , that's awesome! Thank you very much for the link. Not sure why it didn't come up in my searches but this covers everything I need.  Best regards,
