StoryMaps saving text changes but no publishing- Solved

My students were reporting an issue with their story map: they were copy-pasting text from a Google Drive shared document into their shared story map (shared in a group with collaboration possibility), the changes were saving but once published they were disappeared!

The solutions below were not helpful:

1- Restarting the browser

2- Cleaning cache and cookies

3- Making sure that all group members are not working at the same minute (in case of creating confusion over saving for the program) 

Here was the solution: 

Copying the Google Drive text into a Word document, removing all kind of fomrating, pasting it back into the story map! 

This last step solved the issue for good!

Thank you for sharing this workaround. This is unfortunately a known issue with Google Docs because it outputs invalid HTML in some cases when copying text.
