Hi,
I have noticed that there is quite a core and very basic element missing in Webmaps on the new story maps, and that is that there is no address search, this is a key requirement on previous Storymaps utilised by myself.
Is this something that is going to be added? It seems most elements of the Webmaps (Legend, Bookmarks etc) are included but not this one, the alternative is having to manually manoeuvre the map to a point of interest which is cumbersome and not user friendly.
Can you confirm? Time scales ? Future iterative upgrades?
Many thanks,
RW

Hi Richard -- We're looking at adding search for story readers in an upcoming release later this year. (Story authors can already use search while creating and configuring maps in a story.)

Hi Owen,
Thanks, can you confirm if updates will be implemented on a rolling monthly basis coinciding with the "Whats New Story Maps" features?
Kind regards,
Rich W.
That is excellent to hear, since many organisations now create quite extensive publications based on StoryMaps. Perhaps not intended use, but still.
Free text search and also chapter search (bookmarks/anchors) would do the trick!
Oscar -- Just to clarify, this thread was about map search (searching for addresses, points of interest, or features in a map). Is there a reason that the standard browser page search isn't working as needed for searching the text of the story?
Thanks Owen Evans. Missed that. But I have got requests around a more structured text search, based on user created "chapters" or paragraphs. This is especially important in comprehensive planning and other big documents. A search tool within Story Map Collections would for instance be of great interest.
