Text blocks in edit mode

I just finished creating a story map with multiple slides in a side car to use map choreography. I duplicated most slides as the text layout was similar between them. One of the biggest issues I had was being able to find empty text blocks that were not needed and creating increased white space in my sidecar. Another issue I had was deleting empty text blocks.

From this, I have two suggestions/requests:

  1. Is it possible to have a thin outline around the text blocks visible in edit mode to make it easier to see empty blocks?
  2. Can a delete option be added to text blocks to make them simple to remove, with or without text, similar to essentially every other content block?

We are looking at both of these ideas. An outline around the current text block is coming this week.

Hi @OwenGeo, I see the outline around the current text block has been implemented, which is good. However, once you click out of the block the outline disappears. Is it possible to have the outline remain visible whilst the story map is being edited to see where any empty blocks are so they can be edited or deleted?

@DARRYLBEER - At this time, we are not considering adding an outline around all text blocks. However, we will monitor this idea for additional feedback or use cases where this would be helpful. We are also looking into providing a way to easily delete entire text blocks while hovering over them, which may address the issue you mentioned in a different way.
