When including multiple buttons in a section of a story, the button content block only supports vertical placements (e.g. one button on top of another). It would be great to have the option to place buttons horizontally (e.g. next to each other) for a cleaner UX.

Being able to place 2-3 buttons side by side would be helpful for designing our story maps. When story maps are offered in other languages for public engagement, we would like to create a "menu" of buttons linking to the translated story maps. Being able to show them side-to-side makes it easier to see the options in a glance and makes it so one language isn't "above" another. It would also make a cleaner, space-efficent layout.

The ability to place buttons side by side is functionality we need for aesthetic and functional purposes. To reduce scrolling and make better use of space. It would be greatly appreciated if this was made possible.

The ability to add up to four buttons in a row was added this week. For more information, see What's new in ArcGIS StoryMaps (April 2025)
