refresh a feature layer after changing definition expression

i am changing the definition expression of the layer on toggle but how can i do a refresh of the map to display the same layer but with new changes?

If you set a definition expression on the layer, the map should automatically update the view to show only the features that match the definition expression. Can you post some code that shows what you are trying to do but doesn't work?

i resolve it using requery of the feature layer after changing the definition expression.
