Unable to select a graphic element in Pro 3.6.1

For the past two months or so, after installing Pro 3.6, selecting a graphic has been difficult but occasionally worked. Since installing the patch (3.6.1) yesterday, I am no longer able to select a graphic when using the selection tool on the Graphics contextual tab. I have found that right-clicking it selects the graphic. Has anyone else noticed this?

the graphics tab in the edit group?  (just checking, see the Select graphic elements section in the link)

No, this graphic tab. Once a graphic is added to a map, if you deselect it, you cannot reselect it with the Select tool. To select that graphic again, right-click it or choose Select All.

check your settings regarding this tip/comment

By default, the application switches to selection mode after a graphic element is created. If you plan to add multiple elements to the map, click to expand the graphic element gallery on the ribbon and enable the Keep the last tool active option. This allows you to continue to add graphic shapes, pictures, or text.

I just tested and I am still able to select graphics in a map in 3.6.1 by left clicking. I'm working on an Azure VM running Windows 10, if that makes a difference.

(Not doubting your experience, @Teri_Dane, just providing additional information for troubleshooting purposes.)

By the way, one thing I've noticed is that the anchor point of the graphic can be in an unexpected place sometimes (maybe after editing the graphic or perhaps depending on whether a reference scale is set... I'm not sure), so using the graphics select tool to drag a larger than usual box around the graphic selects it, while clicking on the visible portion of the graphic does not. It's like the visible location of the graphic and the true location of it are not in sync, so you have to cast a wider net. No idea if that's the case here, but just throwing it out there.

Holly,

Thank you for the suggestions. I am also working on a Windows 10 machine. Today, the selection tool is working, and I can select my graphics. Yesterday, I tried dragging a box over the graphics to select them, but that didn't work either. Today it does. I'm not sure why it works sometimes and not others.
