Hi everyone,

I am trying to import shapefiles exported from Petra into ArcPro. When I import them, the coordinate system is undefined. Once I define it to the proper coordinate system, I zoom to the polygon, and it's in the middle of the ocean when it should be in Nebraska. Is there a proper way to export the shapefiles from Petra/import or manipulate them in ArcPro to get them to show up in the proper location?

Please let me know.

Thanks so much

Are the shapefiles showing up off the west coast of Africa...say the 0,0 point where the Prime Meridian and Equator intersect?  It sounds like Petra is not writing out the coordinate system information properly.  Are you using the Define Projection GP tool or the Project GP tool?

It's appearing 1250 miles west of the Galapagos Islands. In Arc, I'm using the Define Projection Tool. I'm not sure what my colleague is using in Petra. Which one should they be using?

Thanks so much

I want to divide a given polygon shapefile automatically into equal area ... Please correct me if you spot anything wrong.
