I have a polygon in a specific shape and I want to remove this area from a raster. Specifically, I have a polygon outlining prairie soil in Illinois, and I want to remove this area from the USA soils crop production raster. When I use the clip raster function, it clips out in a rectangle the area around the prairie polygon.

I need to either make the prairie values zero or remove them from the raster.

Please help!

With the appropriate license...

Erase (Analysis)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

or this

Pairwise Erase (Analysis)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

There are other methods using Con and other tools if you want

... sort of retired...

You can use Extract by Polygon (Spatial Analyst) , choose extraction area as "OUTSIDE"

Think Location
