"Modified" date blank for Layouts and Maps

I noticed there's a space for a "Modified" date for each Layout and Map associated with a .aprx, but these dates are blank in my projects. Because the placeholder exists, I imagine it is sometimes populated - can anyone confirm this is the case? And if so, why would it not be populated?

If it's expected that this date is not populated, why does it exist in this empty state? Would be a lot more helpful if it tracked date of last modification similar to how this is tracked for feature classes.

I'm working in ArcGIS Pro 3.4.0.

Hello @rwrenner_abtglobal,

Thank you for your post.  Currently ArcGIS Pro does not have the functionality to record the modification time for individual maps and layouts.  What you saw (in your screen capture above) is in fact a bug – there should not be empty fields in the pop-up - and is already in our list of bugs to fix. This bug is not specific for maps and layouts, for example, the pop-up for the projects in the Recent Projects list can also have this problem:

The definitive way of knowing whether a particular item type can have the modified date property is to look at the items of this type in the Catalog view.  You can see that for maps (and layouts), there are only the Name and Type columns (below), whereas if you browse into a folder or a file geodatabase, you will see more columns for the items at that location including the Date Modified column.

There have been user requests to record and display last modified date for maps and layouts – see this user idea: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/add-date-and-size-for-maps-and-layouts-to-the/idi-p/9....  You can upvote this idea by adding your kudo to it.

Hi Rylee - I checked and Pro 3.5.4 and see the same behavior.

I know that Pro 3.6 is coming out in the next few weeks and may have something on this.

I would recommend working with technical support on this and see if this is a known issue.
