Link Chart Overlapping Relationship Links

In my link chart, the links overlap on top of each other (vs side by side). I am using ArcGIS version 2.9.0. See image below.

I had a friend, who is on ArcGIS Pro version 2.8.1, open the same aprx file and the links were parallel (side by side - not overlapping).

My current work around is applying an opacity/dashed line type so I can still see the links but I have to really zoom in to see which links are plotted.
