Layer won't display in map

Hi!

I'm in Pro 3.4.2. I just received a bunch of messed up shapefiles from an outside party. They were first displaying in Oman when they should be in CA. I was able to define projections (2 different ones) that worked w/most of the files but I have a couple left that just won't display. When I zoom to layer, the map navigates to where they should be, but there's nothing there. I've tried different color combos and manually investigating the area, but there's nothing. Considering the scale of the area displayed when I zoom to layer, they are pretty large, there's no way I would miss them.

I found an esri technical support doc for a similar problem that suggested clearing cache in the program and in temp files, so I did that, closed out of Pro, reopened, and there's still nothing there.

Any ideas??

Thank you in advance!!!

This is a total guess. It could be that the symbology is based on a missing value from a field, if in fact it is a layer file. Try removing all symbology if you haven't already done that.

Thanks for the suggestion, Sean! I'm not sure I know what you mean, though. These were just a Single Symbol feature so there wasn't anything to remove that I'm aware of. But I tried switching them to Unique Values and removing all symbol classes and then switching back to Single Symbol. These were just shapefiles with no set symbology. Is that what you were referring to?

Try running the Repair Geometry GP tool to see if that resolves it.

What happens if you add these shapefiles to a new map? Do they still not show?

Welp, neither of those worked. But thanks for the suggestions!!

Another suggestion is run the Feature Class to Geodatabase GP tool to see if that resolves any potential shapefile issues as well.
