Hello to the community,

We have a problem with publishing a web layer. The process fails and a ERROR 999999 error is reported during the Staging phase.

We have isolated the Layer causing the problem, it is an XY Event Type data source layer imported from a SQL Server DB table (registered and non-geospatial database).

When we proceed in ArcGIS pro to add a join with a view (not a table) always in the same database, the layer changes the data source to Enterprise Geodatabase Feature Class.

and the sharing, which was successful before the Join, gives the error mentioned above and in text here:

11:51:27       Status: Failed ErrorMessage: ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail. Contact Esri Technical Support (http://esriurl.com/support) to Report a Bug, and refer to the error help for potential solutions or workarounds.

The Join is a simple Join on a text field.

We use all the latest version available at today:

  • ArcGIS Pro latest version available today, 3.1.0
  • ArcGIS Server Enterprise and Portal version 11.0

Thanks for any kind help

Thanks Bill, I verified that the original query used like input data source doesn't have an ID from the original table to use like Object ID.

All the best
