Editing Model in Multiple Projects

I am trying to create and share models between multiple ArcGIS Pro projects. The models are all part of a single toolbox.

After creating the toolbox in the initial project, it is being saved as a 10.5/10.6 toolbox and then added into another project. The new project, however, is unable to edit the model - the Model Builder window is simply blank...any suggestions? I have tried copying the model into the default toolbox for the project, but still am unable to edit it.

(This is occurring in both ArcGIS Pro 2.4.2 and ArcGIS Pro 2.7)

Saving it to a previous version, I suspect, will make it uneditable as well

ModelBuilder: migration to ArcGIS Pro—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

under the compatibility section

Sorry for the confusion! I am keeping the toolbox/model within the same ArcGIS Pro version. I have just tested this with two projects in 2.4.2 and two projects in 2.7.

so this ....10.5/10.6 toolbox ... doesn't apply?  If it does, then my comment and link would be pertinent
