Creating a merged polyline in Traverse

Hello! I have drawn thousands of polylines using the Traverse tool in ArcMap, and I'm trying to shift over to ArcGIS Pro. I've noticed that when I draw in Pro Traverse, the lines are automatically all separate. I want them automatically merged like they were in ArcMap so I don't have to go back and do it later, or try to remember before I back out of the Traverse tool. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Hello @tidewateras

I have two ideas that might help you accomplish your desired workflow.

1. Utilize the on-screen constraints.  When on you can actually access the direction and distance display and type them in.  Once you see the constraints, click Tab and you will now be in the direction, type the value, hit enter and then type the distance and hit enter and the segment will be created (you can use a polyline too).

2. Another option is to incorporate the Traverse tool in a Task.  You can create a step in Tasks that will host the Traverse pane.  Enter in all your courses.  And then when the step ends you can have it automatically select all the features you created in the traverse pane.  Then have it automatically run the Merge tool, merging them all together into a single poly line.  Here is some doc on how to create a Task:  https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/tasks/whatistask.htm and here's a video of a Tech Workshop from a past user conference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4GEFwMIu-M

Let me know if you have any additional questions.  Thanks!
