I copied data (points) from one feature service to another feature service in ArcGIS PRO. I followed this documentation: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/copy-and-paste-using-the-clipboard.htm

The icons are displaying on the map and there is attribute information in the pop-up window. However, there is nothing in the attribute able and I noticed the save and discord button under Edit tab is grey while other edit tools is enabled.

I used the URL of feature service to create a map but there is no update I made. Is it because I have to save my copy-paste-change to make it updated? Why the save button is grey? Is it an edit permission issue for my feature service? Please share any idea if you have. I really appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Shuhong

Hi Shuhong,

I'm assuming you did the following...

  1. Select features from the source feature service
  2. Copy
  3. Paste Special
  4. Choose a feature template or layer belonging to the target feature service to paste into > OK

...correct?

It should work as long as the target feature service has editing enabled and has the ability to add features.

Regarding why Save is grayed out: it's most likely because the service is not registered as branch versioned. If this is the case, you can still made edits, but you cannot undo, redo, save those changes - they are committed to the service as soon as the edit operation is completed.

More info here:

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/message-edits-made-to-this-layer-cannot-be-undone.htm

You can check if this is the case by opening up the Editing Status dialog box. Edit tab > Mange Edits group > click Status. You will see warnings listed here if there are any.

Thank you!

Scott

What was the solution that worked for you? I also used the URL feature that redirected me to the Discord application but it seems that the problem is not solved through the solution that has been stated. Can you please let me know what I can do to fix this issue as I run multiple Synapse x Discord server and cannot afford to be offline for more than a day as it really affects my pay as a moderator. Thanks in advance.
