Can anyone help me understand why ArcGIS Pro 3.3.1 is selecting features that aren't listed in the "Selections" area? Others are experiencing the same issue in ArcGIS Pro 3.4 as well. I have checked if any other layers in the map have the "Make this the only selectable layer" option enabled in their selection properties and they are not. I also do not have "Automatically select related records" selected either.
Having a layer checked or unchecked only influences being able to physically select an object using your mouse in the map.
You can still select items from unchecked layers using the various selection tools or by selecting them in their attribute tables.
The concern is that we may intend to select only one specific object, but other items from unchecked layers could also become selected without us realizing it. This could lead to unintended changes, such as accidentally moving a layer.
Just make sure only the layer you want to edit is made editable.
I'd also suggest setting the option to "enable & disable editing from the edit tab" so accidental editing can't happen.
I checked and I do have "enable & disable editing from the edit tab" selected in my project.
Like the picture above, I only have the intended layer selected for editing, yet other layers are still being selected—even though they are not set to be editable. This is the issue I’m running into. If the layer is unchecked I do not want it to select that layer.
