ArcGIS Pro 2.5: what does the number that appear with the output of tools performed inside a model builder indicate for?
For example, in the screenshot below, when applying the “weight overlay” tool, I observed that there are numbers that appear after the input rasters. What do these numbers indicate for?
Jamal - I believe you'll find your answer here in this May 15, 2019 GeoNet post.
Thank you Robert for the help.
Layers with same names that appear in content pane are numbered as they appear in geoprocessing tools with same sequence
What is the “function” of the number in the case below? What does indicate for?
Jamal - I tested your workflow (that I can determine from your screen shot) outside of ModelBuilder and the :2 values in the Weighted Overlay GP tool do not appear. This leads me to believe this is a ModelBuilder internal naming process to follow "intermediate data." Can you provide a screen grab of your Model?
It should be easy to replicate the issue!
If the number that follows the name of the layer represents the order of the layer that appear in the content pane (in case of having layers with similar names in the content), then how come this number is “2” in the screenshot below considering the fact that there are no layers in the content that have similar names?
All commands are run from inside the model. The layer in the content are added with “add to display” option
To make it much clearer, I renamed the outputs that appear in the green box. The Pro is still telling that the number is 2 for layers that appear only one time on the catalog!
What could be the issue here? Is this by design or a bug?
Did you 'refresh' catalog each time?
Sometimes, yes i do
Sometimes? or always?
Maybe its time to move on from modelbuilder to scripts and custom toolboxes
