New install of ArcGIS Pro, Windows 11.  Start project with blank template.  Want to add existing folder, so in Catalog pane/folders, I right-click, select AddFolder.  UI pane starts, but update stops and Error reporting tool pops up.  No recovery.  It 'appears' that I can't use existing data.

Hints on how to fix?

It is when ArcGIS Pro attemptes to open a file dialog.  I just launched, and instead of starting with a new blank project, I attempted to open a previous project.  As soon as the file dialog popped up, crash, error report tool.

Just found this thread that led to a bug at 2.8?  Read thread here: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/network-error/td-p/1065771

Anytime the dialog box comes up to interact with PC filesystem.  I decided to capture a screenshot.  The suggested workaround did work, so I went to look at settings if default paths were part of it.  As soon as I hit the folder icon, bang.

Just did the 'open other project' again and submitted the error report.  I did not see an error number

blank template

went to catalog, clicked on folders and there was a default one based on my profile on my local machine

Did you get this far? is there any default folder?

yes, but when I right-click on Folders, select Add Folder Connection, the filesystem dialog pops up, and error reporting.

this is a tough nut to crack, eh?

You have a bad install.  You will need to completely uninstall Pro, rename any esri folders in the c:\users\"you"\apps..., and perhaps rename any registry entries as well.  If you have 3rd party software that depends on Pro, it will have to be removed first.

I tried uninstall, delete/rename esri folders, arcgis folders. Ccleaner dump of unused reg entries. Reboot/reinstall/update. Same result. May need Windows reinstall.
