Showing the name of the hard drive on the catalog to avoid confusion,

It is very confusing as the catalog just shows the letter of the drive instead of showing the name of the driver (better to show both)!

Facts:

  • In windows XP, users were not able to see the name of the drives when they wanted to “safely remove hardware and eject media”, now in windows 7, this service has enhanced and the users can see the name of the drive that they need to remove

  • Other software that had this problem in the “Allway Sync”. Before the last release the users were not able to see the name of the hard drive that they need to synchronize. But now it is more powerful! It shown the name of the drive

Thank you

This is not even available in ArcPro 2.4.1

When you're adding the connection, you can see the drive name/letter:

It looks like creating folder aliases is in the plan: https://community.esri.com/ideas/15625

Thanks Kory.

Currently, this is how drives appear on the catalog (only letters). What I wanted with this idea is to have the name of the drive appeared on the catalog the same way it appears in Windows so that we recognize which letter is which drive particularly for the drives that represent the external hard drives connected to the machine!

This appears not to be enhanced in 2.5
