Marker symbol layers are incorrectly clipped on polyline and polygon layers in the contents pane

Point symbol layers have their swatches dynamically sized so that the markers aren't clipped in the contents pane (i.e. you can increase the size of point markers so that they are really large, but they'll still display properly on the map and in the contents pane).  However, when using marker symbol layers for polyline (or polygon) layers, the markers are clipped in the contents pane when the markers are anything other than really small (see the attached sample when using some of the ESRI Forestry symbols at 20pt as marker symbols on a polyline layer).  The swatches in the contents pane for marker symbols used on polyline and polygon layers should correctly size the swatch that's displayed rather than clipping it.
