keeping objectid option on copying layer

When copying a layer in arcatalog, an option could purpose to keep or reinit the objectid field of the copying feature class.

Great idea, especially for doing compares later on, using the objectid as the unique id.

or even keeping the same global id if you copy the feature class elsewhere!  either would be helpful!
