Honor the expanded/collapsed state of the List by data source tab when changing versions

Weekly I have to reconcile/post multiple databases and multiple versions of each database (some traditional and some branch). When I am in the List by Data Source view of the Contents pane, I Ctrl + click the triangle button to the left of the layers to minimize all layers back to their overall sources.

Every time I change versions, no matter which database connection it is, it always expands all layers.

This is frustrating to have to continually Ctrl + click to minimize yet again. Please make this to where if you click the triangle to minimize the connection, it stays minimized until you choose otherwise.

Not to dilute this Idea but this is a frustration I find with many other dialogues/panes.
Do something in the Catalog Pane and BAM it will scroll around to some random location and due to it not using standard keyboard arrow key behaviour you have to jump onto your mouse to scroll around to find where you were.

Edit a line in the Attribute Table and, if it actually accepted the edit, ZIP it will resort everything.

Edit & move some text in a layout, dare to click on something else, and WHOOP the ribbon is off to October Fest.

Also - you need to read the BAM, ZIP, WHOOPs slowly with a Barry White voice......

It is as if there should be an overarching Idea of "Just stop doing or changing stuff while I'm working on something".

Extremists may just call it ArcMap mode.....  Yes. I don't like dynamic UIs.

What I have found with ArcGIS Pro is that it does what you don't want it to do without asking or notifying you, and won't do what ArcMap used to be able to do.
You can modify all the Ribbons with commands and tools that you want, but you have to keep clicking the Ribbon you were just using to get back to the tool you just had.
You can customize the Quick Access Toolbar with your common commands and tools, and turn on the labels, but the next time you open a file, the labels have turned off, so you have to manually turn them back on so your tools are back where you left them.

Thanks for this Idea @JamesRains

I've had the Geodatabase team take a look at it and we agree this is a good idea. I've changed its status to under consideration.  We'll post any further updates in this thread as they become available.
