Ctrl + Tab cycling should have an option to go in tab order rather than recently viewed order

I discovered the Ctrl + Tab functionality on accident, but I can't find a way to make it work the way I'd like - to cycle through the tabs in the order they appear on the screen (and use Shift + Ctrl + Tab to go backwards). Firefox implements such an option like this:

Leaving this box unchecked gives you the left-to-right tab switching that I'm describing.

The other major benefit is that tabs change immediately instead of having a GUI popup that lags.
A similar feature is in notepad++, which most disable because it slows down work waiting for the "most recent tab" pop up when alll you want to do is go back and forth between two tabs.

Ot at least for me, I will never use in ArcGIS "ctlr-tab" because of the pop-up.
