There has always been an absence of Canadian or Provincial Highway Shields (except the Trans Canada Highway Shield) from ArcGIS Desktop stock symbology style reference sets.  Here in Ontario a Arcscript Style set was produced in 2003 and later purchased by esri in 2005.  http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=13154  This style set is still available as an arcscript; but, why isn't it part of the stock symbols now that its owned by esri?  My Idea is that esri needs to better support its Canadian users by adding either a Canadian Highway Style Reference set or by adding to its general Transportation Style Reference some of the stock shield outlines that represent our signage (like US State & County Shields).

I agree!

Given the number of Canadian ArcGIS subscibers, I think this is a "no brainer"
That said, ESRI could likely create a symbology for every country.

Good for business I think!
