Right now you have to click into boxes before selecting content despite a text cursor appearing on hover. If you want to select from the middle of the string, you have to click again before selecting. This is a drag on efficiency and reliability -- please allow for selecting specific numbers without clicking into the box once or twice. Below is an example of this happening in the map scale box. It also happens in places like the create features pane, attributes pane, etc.
