Apologies in advance, this may have already been proposed previously.
We are currently building a comprehensive data model for our business where we are also aiming to make the UX as smooth as possible. One really nice feature would be to add a short description of each attribute field in a feature class to help guide users as to it's purpose without the need of looking it up in a accompanying data dictionary. For example, in the below mouse mouseover tooltip for the 'Comments' field, have an additional 'Description' row.
Description: This field should be used to add any additional comments to the specific feature etc etc.
Thanks for this idea @MattHowe
This really goes hand in hand with having field descriptions stored in the geodatabase. Right now, field descriptions are part of metadata in a Geodatabase.
Give this Idea a Kudo.
Field Descriptions in GDB
I want this just because I think it would be easy to then programatically create our SOP documentation requirements. We have a specific data dictionary format that I would love to script to output into the necessary excel formats. Since I don't have the ability to add field descriptions that one can see in the Data Design options in Pro , we have to do that manually- I feel like this needs to be applied in lots of places like Domains and subtypes. Just something that allows the average person picking up the reigns to see in their Pro document.
