Hi all,

I have to quickly check area (square feet) of polygons in data coming from a CAD. dwg. It would be very nice to be able to see the area of the polygon in the attribute table or attributes pane with the feature selected. Screen shot below not showing the area. I know what you're thinking...Geometry tab. That's what I thought too. Nope, I'll show that screen shot also.

Attributes Pane:

Thank you.

Hi @AndreaB_ ,

Automatically calculating the area of polygons as part of direct-reading CAD files would require some considerations/assumptions, such as differences in assigned coordinate systems, units.

Good news though! If you have taken the direct-read polygons and added them as features to your geodatabase, then you can use "Calculate Geometry" from the context menu within the the attributes table to calculate and list the polygon areas.
