Any reason all the event tools are greyed out?

I have an active LRS license.  I have my LRS and event layers pulled into my APRX.  I just want to split a line event but i cannot get any of the event tools to highlight. I have tried selecting the event, closed and opened the aprx, regenerated my events.  Not sure what else to try?

Any help is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure those tools are only compatible with Branch Versioned data in ArcGIS Enterprise and an APR server extension license https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pipeline-referencing-blog/deployment-scenarios-for-event-editin...

That's correct, the event editing tools in Pro only work with a service with the linear referencing and version management (branch versioning) capabilities enabled.
