The best scenario to update data published in the ArcGIS Online,

I have a layer that represent the land use as shape file. This shape file is Zipped before uploaded to ArcGIS Online. Now, as this data is updated at the desktop level, then what might be the best scenario to reflect these updates on the ArcGIS Online?

Do I need to delete the web map and the web mapping application and to replace it with the updated shape file and to be engaged again with symbology and other settings again from scratch?

Thank you

Best
