"Create List" not appearing for only one field feature layer

I am creating lists on my feature layer to make data collection easy but there is one field where “Create List” is not showing as an option when all the other fields in the same feature layer have the “Create List" option. Any ideas why?

I ran into an issue where I was trying to create a polygon feature within a "master layer". This specific type wasn't an option in the "create section" of agol. I checked and this type was part of the domains. The master layer was missing this type as a part of the symbology. When I added it, it still didn't show up in the "create" section. I could create a point and then switch it to the type I needed, but it was still missing in the create area. 

Solution: 
I went into the master layer map template that contained this feature and I updated the symbology (it was in the other section & greyed out). After doing this, I went into web maps designer and navigated to the template area. In there I found that this layer was "out of sync" and this was the reason for the weird bug. Update and save and you should be able to see the missing type now in the create section of AGOL. 🙃

I don't know if anyone has helped you find a solution, but here's what I've done. I never figured out why my text field wouldn't allow me to make a list initially, but here was my work around. I brought the layer into Pro and exported the layer. In the newly exported layer, I opened the attribute table and the fields table. If you scroll over, you will see a column called Domain. Here you click in the cell for the field you want and choose to create a Domain or create a Domain from listed of values. Then save the changes to the field. Then, overwrite the online layer.
