Prepare and publish data arc gis online

Do I need to use arc gis pro or desktop to prepare and publish data to a webmap for use in the collector app or can this be done solely in arc gis online?

Hi Fiona,

You may not require desktop or pro if your data is in the following format. You can just use ArcGis Online to publish your data.

Comma-separated values (CSV) files that contain coordinates or addresses
Microsoft Excel files (.xlsx or .xls) that contain coordinates or addresses
Google Sheets on Google Drive
GeoJSON files or zipped shapefiles
Feature collections
Zipped file geodatabases
Zipped collections of georeferenced photos (photos with locations)
A template or existing feature layer

Hi, I had no problem uploading a csv file as a hosted standalone table and was able to generate a list from the attributes listed in my table (domains) in ArcGIS Online. However, I really want this table as a hosted feature layer for use with Collector App and I do not want to add each domain individually. So I uploaded the same .csv table as a feature layer but when I try to generate a list of domains I get an error message saying There are no values in this field to generate the list. Any advice much appreciated.
