Pop-ups not working in Map Viewer

Hi,

I have a web map created in ArcGIS Online where the pop-ups for one of the layers does not work. When clicked on, instead of the pop-up popping up nothing happens. The other layers on the map have their pop-ups working correctly.

The problem layer in question has pop-ups turned on and they are custom configured to display a select number of fields & it uses an Arcade expression for the title.

When using the map in the Field Maps mobile app and selecting a feature from this layer, the custom configured pop-up works and can be viewed. When viewing the map in Map Viewer Classic, the custom configured pop-up works and can be viewed. When viewing the map in Experience Builder using the map widget, the issue persists and the pop-ups do not work.

I am truly unsure why Map Viewer refuses to display pop-ups for this single layer, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I am having the same issue. I have a layer that is used in multiple maps and experiences that stopped showing pop-ups today after I overwrote the data the layer is based. I've tried most of the solutions in this thread and haven't had any luck. I've also tried re-adding the layer to these maps, which didn't fix the issue. Pop-ups aren't visible on the "Visualization" tab of the layer page either.

Here is a map that uses it: https://arcg.is/CT4qn (problem is used for "School locations" and "School distance to nearest facility")

Here is an experience (uses the same map): https://arcg.is/1yCTXz1

Here is the problem layer: https://arcg.is/0buPji2

@RussRoberts, any help would be appreciated!

I also have been encountering issues for the pop-ups in the Map Viewer.

These pop-ups are configured for an image service.

When zoomed out to the overview level of the service, the pop-ups display reliably, as expected. When you zoom in to the level of the source rasters, the pop-ups almost never display. The "thinking wheel" shows briefly, but then nothing displays. Sometimes, if you hit just the right spot, it will magically work, but most of the time it doesn't.

Based on some of the comments in this thread, I opened the map in Web Viewer Classic, and the pop-ups work fine at all zoom levels.

Are there zoom-level pop-up visibility settings in the new Web Viewer that I'm not seeing?

@RussRoberts This map is not ready to be shared publicly, but I could invite you to a group with access to the map if that would help.

Yup sharing it to a group and I can check it out would be great!  invite russell_jsapi to the group

For reference, one of the magic areas that works when zoomed in is in the region of the Lihue airport. I've now saved the map to have that as the default display region. If you click near the airport, the pop-up works as expected, but if you click too far away from the airport, the pop-up will not display.

Yup, I can see the issue you are seeing with imagery popups. It doesn't look like a release regression but looks like it is requiring you to get pretty close to the centroid of the image you are clicking on to get the popup.  If you can keep this map shared with me I can pass it along to that team. I would recommend creating a support ticket for you to track.

Thanks for the validation @RussRoberts. I'll leave the map accessible. We'll be doing some work with the services, but I'll leave the VH service as-is for a while. Let me know if there are additional people I should share the map with. What is the process for creating a support ticket for tracking this particular issue?

Thanks!

Also of note, we host image services that have source rasters with a much larger spatial extent, and we have not seen this issue with those services. The first time I noticed it was with a service that had 1 degree by 1 degree tiles, but it only happened occasionally, so I assumed it was just an internet slowdown.

The services in the webmap have the smallest source rasters that we've worked with, and the problem occurs most of the time when zoomed to the level of the source raster, which is what made it clear that this wasn't just something funny going on with the internet.

For reference, the last layer in the web map I shared is one of the services with very large source rasters. There's no coverage over Hawaii, so you'll have to move to the continental US to see imagery, but you can verify that the problem doesn't occur with this image service.

The scripts we use to generate these services are similar, though not exactly identical, to what we use for the larger datasets. Most of the mosaic dataset properties are the same, however, with the exception of the PS values (due to the vastly different spatial extent of the source rasters). Let me know if you'd like to see the code used to generate the mosaic dataset and publish the service.

Hi @Heidi_Kristenson  can you please create a Support case so we can take a closer look, gather more details and log a defect for this issue?

I've opened an case, and a defect has been logged.
