moving a point with the Edit web app

I am using the Edit web application with a simple web map/feature service with point features.

all is going well and I have figured out how to add points, select a point, and update attributes.

When adding a new point I can place the point, then adjust its location.

but when I select the point, I am unable to move its location. I want to do this in cases where I return to make edits later.

should I be able to adjust the position of a point feature? if so, what click stream is used to accomplish this?

thanks.

You should be able to move the point. try clicking once then clicking again and you should see some selection handles to drag the point.

Is the layer a feature service? is the feature service configured for full editing? there is an option on a feature service to allow creating new features but not edit existing features.

Thanks,

Mike

Sorry, no selection handles showing up in web app. Clicking twice zooms the map.

Wait a minute! I just moved position on a point in the web map (not app)! No selection handles, but somehow I managed to click on just the right spot and it took my clicks as a location update request. Click in the wrong spot and you get either a map zoom, or the attribute popup appears. How to tell the exact right spot to click on is a mystery to me. Either I am dense or there is a design flaw, IMHO.

Another odd thing: when editing in the web app, the point symbol reverts to the default when a point is selected.

URL to web app is

https://dfm.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Editor/Chrome/index.html?appid=fbc9f862c7bf41d48cf3b222a9954d5a&web...

shared with Everybody, as is underlying web map and feature service.

layer is feature service, configured for full editing. Edit tracking is on.
