Is there a way to change the name of a legend without changing the name of the layer in ArcGIS Online?

I have two data feature layers on my web map. I made this web map into an app, and hid one of the layers' legends so that there was was only one legend visible.

But, this legend is titled with the layer name, which doesn't give the user any information about the meaning of the symbols. I want to rename the legend to something descriptive, WITHOUT renaming the layer itself. Is there any way to do this on Online?

try going back to the original map view, click on the feature, rename, save, then publish map and map app again.
