How to embed GoPro video into app and track location on map

I'm looking to create a web app with an embedded video taken from a GoPro that also shows the GPS tracked location from the video on a map in the same app. So as the video plays in the app a dot on the map moves along to show where the video location is.

I'm able to extract the GPS data from the video file and create a feature layer with the data, but I don't know how to link that to a playing video and show the moving point on a map.

Is this possible? Any ideas?

Thanks Amanda. I did see that thread, but it doesn't accomplish what I'm trying to do. I'm looking for a web app solution that I can share where the user can play a video and follow the tracking of the video on a map.

Hi dartrad17, I found your post and I've been trying to do the exact same thing.
Were you able to create your solution?

Check this out https://maps.video/map-gopro-videos it should do most of what you want!

Map GoPro videos easily with pro desktop apps. Use the batch GPS importer tool to quickly add hundreds of GoPro videos.

There are two new ways to effortlessly leverage 360 imagery and video in ArcGIS Online and Enterprise.

  1. GeoTube for ArcGIS. This tool seamlessly integrates a YouTube video player directly within ArcGIS Experience Builder.  GeoTube allows users to watch YouTube videos (2D or 360) within the web map while simultaneously displaying the associated location, visualizing the video path, and observing the playback location as features on the map. This enhanced user interface provides a comprehensive and intuitive understanding of the spatial relationship between videos and their corresponding geographic locations. You can learn more about GeoTube here: https://www.nodeology.net/geotube/.ClarkSelby_0-1688576872977.jpegVisualize in YouTube. Analyze in ArcGIS.
  2. SiteViewer 360 for ArcGIS: By capturing your site with a 360 camera, you can immerse yourself in panoramic views, enabling detailed analysis and exploration from every angle. ArcGIS Online 360 demos are available, featuring imagery of Hurricane Ian, Pittsburgh Steps, and Rails-to-Trails, at the bottom of this page:  https://www.nodeology.net/site-viewer-360-for-arcgis/.  ClarkSelby_1-1688576872981.jpegHurricane Ian 360 imagery
