Users can bring an ArcGIS for Server (AGS) feature service into their map. In edit mode, they can add, delete and modify features and attributes. What they cannot do is use: >Perform Analysis >Manage Data >Extract Data.
In the View Item Details page for the AGS feature service, there are no settings for Export Data permissions like one finds for a Hosted Feature Service.
Why is a feature service that is hosted from ArcGIS for Server treated differently than a Hosted Feature Service located in AGOL?
The only work-around that I have found is for the end-user to use the “Derive New Locations” tool to create a “copy” of the features from the AGS feature service and then Extract Data from the copy.
