Description overwritten by storymap

In AGOL you can select an item and add information (a description) to the item. When the item is a storymap, the description will be overwritten by the storymap software. Why? Because the information in the description is some text from the storymap, which is not always the description. Is there a possibility to set the description without overwriting by the storymap?

It looks like this was a feature added during the 3 November 2021 release of StoryMaps.

We have some users who are unhappy with this as well in are organization. I expect an enhancement request needs to be made to change this back to how it was before, or to come up with a way to keep StoryMaps from overwriting a Description which has been explicitly entered.
