I have several hosted feature services already published to ArcGIS Online. I know I can download them, add a global ID in Arc Map then republish. Is it possible to add a global ID directly to a hosted feature service?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Enabling sync for the hosted feature layer will add a GlobalID field to the hosted feature layer.
Global ID is a database table property and can be enabled in ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro (Add Global IDs—Help | ArcGIS Desktop ). Once the fields have been added you need overwrite the hosted service.
I hope this helps!

Hi @MJBiazar,
Are you referring to this Sync setting? I'm not seeing GlobalID information in the documentation.

Hi @Amanda__Huber yes, if your layer is published without global id field, enabling sync in the feature layer settings in ArcGIS Online creates global id field in all layers in your feature layer.
You are correct! This is not mentioned on our documentation and I encourage you to submit a documentation feedback for this.
Thank you
Great! Thank you, I just submitted after testing.
Best,
