ArcGIS Online New Map Viewer doesn't support WMS Legends

Hi,

I want to create a web map with many WMS layers from public sources such as: https://geology.data.vic.gov.au/nvcl/wms

I would like to use the new Map Viewer, not the Map Viewer Classic, however the new Map Viewer seems to be incapable of showing WMS legends.

Do we know when this is planned to be available, or is there something I am missing to make it work now?

Looking at the json representation of the two webmaps from ArcGIS Online assistant we can see that the legendUrl for the WMS layer is not added in the New Web Map specification:

while it is present in the Map Json created by the old Map Viewer Classic:

Just for fun I copied the legendUrl into the new webmap json using ArcGIS Online assistant and it worked 😖

This is an issue for us, we need to use WMS weather service and having a legend is a must!

Hello, WMS Legend support was added in the April Map Viewer update. If you are still seeing issues, please let us know.

Hi @ZaraMatheson , will there be a patch for ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3? ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4 is breaking (no WAB functionality) and it will take a big change (and a lot of preparation time)  to upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4.

There is no patch currently planned for this functionality in the Map Viewer in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3. That said, this functionality is available in the new Map Viewer in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4 (released yesterday on November 7, 2024!).

It is important to note that that ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4 is not a breaking release with regard to the Map Viewer Classic and Web AppBuilder. Both applications will be available for use in 11.4. Hi,

Please consider adding this functionality to 11.3 via a patch. As 11.3 is a LTS release many organizations will be on it until 11.5 is released.
