ArcGIS Online: How to download layers while working with “map viewer”?
I’m not sure if there is a tool by which layers can be downloaded while working with “map viewer”
As far as I know, this cannot be done in the map viewer directly. You can share the map as a web application and use the "Analysis" widget, which has export functionalities, or access the layers Item Details page using the Table of Contents in the web map (see screenshot). From there, you can download the layer as various file types (fgdb, shapefile, etc).
Not sure how this should enable downloading\exporting a particular layer
If you only want to export a particular layer from the service, you can use the "Export To" option under the layer name:
This option is not exporting the data to the computer!
Yes, unfortunately it is not an option to have it download directly to your local device. It is saved in your content as the desired export format. Once it is exported, go to that item and click the download button from there. Once it's downloaded to your device, then you can delete from your content in your Portal if desired.
But how can the end user who has only viewing access to the web map viewer can still download the data? Is the download still doable for those who has no access to the content?
is the end user who doesn't have logins to access arcgis online still able to download a particular layer?
@JamalNUMAN I am also very keen on learning this. Can you somehow allow end users to extract layers form the map viewer?
