AGOL showing two different domains - same attribute, same time?

When querying a polygon the domain shows correctly in the popup box (Number Each) but with the table open and the same feature selected it shows the wrong domain (Acres - also coded "1" but in a completely different domain).  What is causing this and how do I fix it? Does AGOL have a problem with Subtypes?

The dataset is extensive and I would rather not switch mid project to text domains, I am not even sure this would work due to the issue of it pointing to a completely wrong domain.

A default was set in the Fields part of the attribute table, not in the subtype.  Removing the default restored this to normal working operation.
