In real life, whatever we see is actualy in motion. But on map, say a sattelite image is actually a still image. With improving bandwidth, we now can afford to foresee how geographic maps in future will be rendered. Currently, Ajax based rendering of geographic images of different zoom level is done. But in future, with high speed internet and cheap data storeage capability, animated gif images can be rendered using the same ajax based rendering mechanism.

for example:

example 1:  a satellite image of a sea shore can show gif image of waves coming and approaching the shore. These gif images will be formed by combining multiple still images taken over a small period of time by satellites.

example 2: a satellite image taken of a garden can show flowers moving with slow wind.

This will be a new and helpful visualization for users to recreate the actual 3d model of such location in their mind.
