Show Pop-ups in Attribute order rather than Alphabetical by Default

Hi All,

Hopefully this isn't something I've just missed!

It seems the default view for pop-ups is alphabetical rather than attribute order. To me it makes more sense to have the default order as attribute order - I'm sure most people creating features apply a logical approach to table design - and having to completely reorganise the pop-up is frustrating. Can the default order be changed to attribute order? Thanks,

Hi @JuliaFigueroa,

You now have the ability to sort the field order in the Select Fields link of the pop-up's Field List configuration.

The "Default" option sorts the fields to the order they appear in the Feature Service.

All of these workarounds appear to be band-aids for the bigger issue of the underlying web map JSON "fieldInfos" property ordering the fields alphabetically instead of respecting the source service's field order. While these workarounds are great for authoring pop-ups, I am struggling to generate exports from widgets in Experience Builder that point to web map layers as their sources that respect the service's field* order.

I will submit a support ticket and check out the Experience Builder forums as I know this is veering off-topic for this post, but just wanted to check if anyone had a similar experience and a workaround for that use case, as it is closely connected to this issue. Specifically, I am trying to generate Query results that use the web map pop-up showing a subset of fields for in-app display, but still respect the service order of fields when exporting all fields to a CSV. Thanks!

To sort the attribute order in a pop-up, it's very simple;

In the pop-up settings, just toggle select/deselect/select and all attributes are added back in the order of the attributes published.

@ScottKiley Hi there, where exactly do you find these editing features? Would it be in the WebApp Builder or do you need to do this still in ArcGIS Online?

@LowerFraserFisheriesAllianceLF  This would be in the ArcGIS Online Web Map. Deselecting, and selecting all should reorder them, and then you can just drop off any unnecessary/bloat fields (as mentioned above by @JonathanMcD). You can also deselect and then click each check box next to the field to build the fields in a specific order if you'd like.

@LowerFraserFisheriesAllianceLF , it's on the Web Map (Map Viewer) for ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.  Also, Web AppBuilder is deprecated, and you probably want to start migrating your WAB to ExB or Instant Apps.  I don't recall when it will be no longer available for the AGOL.  For Enterprise, WAB is no longer supported in Enterprise 12.

@ChaselWood I'm using ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3, I noticed my web map doesn't have pop up going by alphabetically order, but when it's in the Web AppBuilder, everything is back to alphabetically.  I don't use AGOL often, so I don't know if AGOL is behaving differently.  I'm working on moving my WAB to ExB, hoping ExB doesn't have this issue.
