Query Widget's result layers are temporary, and vanish when the online session ends. This is a waste of the user's effort. Results should be permanent, and deletable by the user. ArcGIS Online has the potential to eliminate what Esri calls "trivial mapping requests" and bring a modern level of self service to our users. Powerful self-service features are the key to that functionality. For example, busy engineers focusing on certain subject matter for weeks or months don't want their special layers to disappear, and they don't want to recreate them every day. Why should I as the web app & web map author be forced to customize layers, when users already know what they want and Query Widget can provide it? Let's make widgets do more than they've ever done before!
