Unable to upload .geojson files to AGOL Notebook

I've tried to upload various .json and .geojson files to an AGOL Notebook. 

What worked:

- Only a large (~435MB) .json file would actually upload

What didn't work:

- Large (~100MB) .geojson file

- Results:

- Tried uploading ~45 MB .geojson file

- Results: A cryptic Status 500 message

- Tried uploading ~40MB .geojson file

- Results: A cryptic Status 401 message

How do I get past this issue?
