I am conducting some research on intermodal transport networks using the ArcGIS 10.0 Network Analyst extension. At this moment, all cost evaluators in the network are "field type" evaluators and added to the network dataset using MS Access. However, this approach is time consuming if, for example, variable oil prices have to be assessed.
My question is therefore if it is possible to calculate these cost evaluators using the VB script function that reads out the relevant parameters from an Excel table (e.g. fuel cost/km). Unfortunately, I have no experience in VB programming, but I would be interested to learn.
