Are there any plans to make "Navigator" a part of the API?

We'd love to replace the text based directions (with the route overlaid) on our Arcgis based map app, with actual turn by turn voice navigation.  We are using arcgis javascript api.

Rex Hansen‌  we are getting close to a critical point in planning the next version of our app, any idea how long it will take you guys to make a decision on this?

Hi Manasa, Andrew,

Thank you for your feedback on what you're looking for in a navigation API.  Currently we have a number of customers who have built their own navigation experience with ArcGIS Runtime, but this required quite a lot of custom work to do things like off-route detection, snap to route, automatic route recalculation and support maneuver announcements in multiple languages.  Of course we'd like to make this process easier for developers by providing out of the box navigation capabilities.  At this stage we plan to introduce a navigation API into ArcGIS Runtime in a release in the latter half of 2019.

Hope this helps,

-Rex

Seems like there is a new ArcGIS Runtime version 100.5 release 2 days back, is there any new Capabilities added like Navigation API introduced in this release?.

Hi Manasa,

No.  As mentioned in my previous reply, we plan to introduce a navigation API into ArcGIS Runtime in a release in the latter half (ie Q3-Q4) of 2019.
