GIS Server component registration not working

Monitor 2024.1.1 is configured with multi-machine enterprise 11.3 deployments. Portal/Datastore components working normally, except GIS server (single machine site and federated server).

1. Not displaying server address / start time or license expiry

2. Only one metrics (connectivity) is shown (where as there are 15 for another identical deployment where monitor works as expected)

3. Only ArcGIS Server logs working under Observers, while Inventory and Metrics are not showing any connection / log details. GIS Server logs are coming through

4.  Under Monitor Server logs, the following is shown:

5. Usage reports can be seen via Server admin rest API and displays usage report (required and managed by ArcGIS Monitor to assist with ArcGIS Server metric collection), there are over 14427 service items listed in this report.

Any suggestions @DerekLaw ?

Hi @Thomas_Puthusserry,

The environment description, just to confirm: it sounds like you were able to register the enterprise portal and ArcGIS Data Store components of your ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 site, but not the 2x ArcGIS Server sites, both single machine (one is the hosting server and the other is federated with the portal), is this correct? 

For the 2x ArcGIS Server sites, can you see the metrics for their respective host machines? If not, can you please confirm that you've set the appropriate permissions? Then restart AM Agent on the machines.

Did you register the 2x ArcGIS Server sites directly in ArcGIS Monitor (on the Monitoring tab), or can you "see" them listed under the "Discovered Components" filter (on the left panel of the Monitoring tab)? If the latter, can you please try and add them via the "Discovered Components" option?

  • We only have a single GIS server in the deployment, which is a federated server.

For the 2x ArcGIS Server sites, can you see the metrics for their respective host machines? If not, can you please confirm that you've set the appropriate permissions? Then restart AM Agent on the machines.

  • The GIS Server VM (host machine) is displayed and can see over 500 metrics, and 2 Observers (Inventory - host windows; Metrics - host windows)

Did you register the 2x ArcGIS Server sites directly in ArcGIS Monitor (on the Monitoring tab), or can you "see" them listed under the "Discovered Components" filter (on the left panel of the Monitoring tab)? If the latter, can you please try and add them via the "Discovered Components" option?

  • I tried both options a number of times. Unregistered the agent, and re-registred, unregistred the GIS server component and re-registred the component. There is no difference. 

There is an ESRI support ticket (03893275 ) opened, where I have given additional logs, if that helps.

Thanks for letting me know. I will defer to Esri Tech Support to investigate the issue further. They are the best folks to help resolve your issue.
